Friendly House offers care for children in grades K-5. Children participate in group and individual activities, receive homework help and enjoy enrichment and recreational activities.
Transportation from select schools is available for our after school program. The program operates Monday – Friday, beginning when children are out of school until 5:30 p.m. Dates of operation are the first day of school until the last day of school.
The fee is $60 per week per student. We accept childcare assistance through Iowa Department of Human Services. Friendly House also offers scholarship opportunities, which makes the program affordable for all families. The Friendly House Afterschool program is licensed for 60 children and meets all licensing requirements by the State of Iowa.

The regulations provide that people who feel that they or others have been the object of discrimination by a child care center, contrary to the provisions of the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Public Law 88-352), as amended, and regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (45 Code of Federal Regulations--Part 80), may file a complaint. All complaints will be investigated and appropriate action taken when indicated. Inquiries should be directed to the Iowa Civil Rights Commission at (515) 281-4121.
